The One Write System eventually inspired a name change, and Cyril-Scott became the One Write Company as a reminder of what we still do each and every day:
Today, under the leadership of Tom’s son, Norm Boyd, and grandson, Andrew Boyd, One Write carries on the tradition of continuous improvement and outstanding customer service. With our revolutionary, perfect-bound One Write Envelope Book inspiring more and more people to give, One Write provides church offering envelopes, forms, and other giving materials to more than 10,000 churches and organizations around the world.
Printing has been in Andrew’s family for generations, four to be exact. His great grandfather started Boyd Press in Wheeling, West Virginia, and a few changes of name and locations later, Andrew is at the helm of the same company. He is passionate about all things printing, from artwork and design, to equipment and paper. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family, reading about American history, and rooting on his alma mater at football games.
Gloria joined the One Write family in 1977, took a little time off to start her own family, and came back to us again to work part-time and then full-time in 1991. Gloria oversees all of the details that go into running our office from handling incoming email and web orders to answering phones on busy days. She also follows every printing job from start to finish, preparing job jackets for the press room, tracking jobs to make sure they stay on schedule, and invoicing once orders have shipped. When Gloria isn’t keeping us running smoothly, she’s running around trying to keep up with her husband, her three grown children, and her seven grandchildren. In her spare time (!), she also works for a local auctioneer.
Customer Service Specialist
If you call One Write with a question, there’s a good chance you’ll speak with Tracy. She started in our Customer Service department in 1984, moved into Prepress, and then found her way back to Customer Service in 2011 where she could spend her days helping people. Tracy wears a number of hats that include order entry and production preparation, but “making new friends” is her absolute favorite part of the job. In fact, she’s so good at it one of her customers stopped on his way from Pennsylvania to Colorado just to meet her in person. Tracy lives on a small farm with her husband, two sons, two pot-belly pigs, four dogs, five cats, and assorted pygmy goats and cows, and enjoys shopping with her mom and checking out auctions and flea markets.
Customer Service Specialist
Sheri loves talking with customers and has been doing it for a good part of her professional career. Before she joined One Write, she spent ten years at The Golfworks in Newark, Ohio working in customer service and tech support. (She even spent two weeks learning how to repair golf clubs!) Sheri came to One Write in 1999, starting in the Call Center for Sunnyland Farms and moving into the Church Services department in 2004. After stints in Accounting and Human Resources, she brought her wealth of knowledge and experience back to Customer Service in 2013. Sheri and her husband live on ten acres in Perry County, Ohio, where their three children, granddaughter, and dog keep them on the go.
Jo spent her first five years at One Write moving through departments. She eventually settled into the pre-press department, and has seen a lot change over the years. From originally using melted wax to strip up art to our modern day all digital process, Jo is a prepress expert. She saves the messy stuff for home; painting on furniture, drawing on walls, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, or following Etta James, the Mighty Beagle, through the fields.
An expert at running our presses, Ron considers himself to be a bit of a jack of all trades. He’s been working for One Write since 1978 and in that time has worn a number of hats, handling many different tasks in the course of a day. He considers the people at One Write to be his big, second family. Ron lives in Carroll, Ohio where he enjoys fishing, camping, hiking, and sporting events with his three sons.
Kevin has lived in Lancaster, Ohio his entire life, and came to One Write right out of high school. For the past 39 years, he’s been operating our printing presses, overseeing the printing and assembly of our Envelope Books. Kevin loves the busy pace of printing as well as his great workmates, but when the workday is over he looks forward to going home to spend time with his wife, walk his dogs, and enjoy an ice cold beer on the deck by his pool when all the yard work is done.
As a machine operator who works on our Sulby and standard book-binding machines. Tony—quite literally—helps us get our Envelope Books to the church on time. Once everything’s cut and bound and on its way to its final destination, Tony heads home to West Rushville where he lives with his wife. The couple enjoys attending church services at the River Valley Life Center and love to travel when they can. Tony has two sons from his first marriage, and he and his wife have ten grandchildren between them.
Versatility is Dick’s middle name as he does absolutely everything related to production at One Write. Dick has been working in printing for more than 26 years, 17 of those at One Write, where he runs machines, helps with shipping, helps load and unload semis, tracks and records time for employees, and orders supplies. He and his wife live in Lancaster with their two dogs, and enjoy spending time together going out to dinner, watching movies and TV, and attending their seven grandsons’ sporting events with their four grown children.
Rob, quite literally, keeps One Write running. As a machine operator who’s been performing maintenance on our presses for more than 27 years, we count on him to run several different machines, and troubleshoot any mechanical or electrical problems. Rob originally studied to become an auto body mechanic, but enjoys the challenge of keeping our machines going. Rob enjoys all sorts of hobbies, including fishing, hunting, bike riding, tinkering on cars and mowers, reading and welding, but says nothing beats spending time with his wife and two college-age children.
Lisa’s title is Shipping Specialist, but she handles quite a few more jobs at One Write and that’s just fine with her. She loves the variety of tasks and assignments she fulfills throughout the day and enjoys how busy her responsibilities keep her. She enjoys spending time with her co-workers. but she really loves spending her free time with her three children and four grandchildren at home in Somerset, Ohio.
There’s a lot of variety in print work and Mary Beth enjoys it all. She’s been operating presses at One Write for 19 years and her favorite part of her job is her ability to do a number of different things to keep us running smoothly. When she’s not at work, Mary Beth keeps things running in the home she shares with her husband and two children.
